Stand with the women of Iran
The death of Mahsa Amini sparked a protest the likes of which the world has never seen. Cutting one’s hair became a symbol of solidarity and defiance.
Working with Rethink and the YWCA, Jon helped create the Hopeful Hair wall. Canadians from all walks of life joined in and cut their hair to bring the piece together. As more people placed their hair on the wall, it spelled out the rallying cry from the protests against the Islamic Republic of Iran and their morality police: “WOMAN. LIFE. FREEDOM.”
Protesters marched with the wall in Vancouver and Toronto. It was featured in local and national news.
